Sewer Dungeon

From ONISM1999
(Redirected from Sewer)
A sewer with pipes sticking out of the walls.

The Sewer Dungeon is the second dungeon in YIIK, found in Wind Town. Here the Amp tool is acquired. It is implied to be Rory's Mind Dungeon. The boss fight of this area is the Golden Alpaca.

After the Alpaca is defeated, the sewer changes to be more abstract, due to what Vella describes as "breaks in reality."

Story[edit | edit source]

Rory believes his sister Carrie, who he claims to have disappeared, to be down somewhere in the sewer, and has Alex, Michael, and Vella help investigate with him. At the end of a dark hallway, the group finds a Soul Survivor, which Rory is convinced must be his sister. However, Vella recognizes it for what it truly is, the Soul Survivor of Rory who tried to leave his reality and enter this one. Rory admits that his sister didn't disappear, but instead committed suicide, but believed that she was still out there somehow, in the form of a supernatural entity.

In the middle of conversation, they are interrupted by a Golden Alpaca, which threatens to get rid of all of the illicit presences in the reality. He first tries to kill Alex, but after failing, kills Rory's Soul Survivor, before turning on the rest of the party. After defeating him, the group flees the sewer, which has now shifted, becoming more grim and abstract. They find a chapel consisting of 5 entities, one of which they refer to as "God." After one of the entities follows Alex to the chapel's water, a door opens leading to the sewer's exit.

Outside, Alex criticizes Rory for lying about what happened to his sister, disregarding his complicated feelings on what just happened. Rory leaves to go home, and Vella and Michael give Alex a lot of shit for how he treated Rory.

Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

Part 1[edit | edit source]

At the entrance, proceed to the door on the right. An enemy will be guarding a chest which contains a Dungeon Key. Feel free to ignore the door on the left, which just leads into an enemy encounter. Head downwards and up a ladder and walk towards the rocks. Vella will give you a new tool: Amp. This will allow you to break any of the rocks in the dungeon. You can use Dali to open the chest on the left for some items. Use the Dungeon Key you got on the locked door. The next room is the iconic "rock room." Simply use Amp to clear the rocks in your path.

In the next room, a bunch of easter island heads block the way. Rory will teach you another new tool- Hair Whip. This will allow you to clear the easter island heads. Next, use Amp to destroy the crumbling rock wall to proceed. In the next room, a chest can be seen in the sewer water. This is a keytar for Vella, and an incredibly important item to grab. With it equipped, Vella's Beatdown will be upgraded, and deal significantly more damage. This will greatly help in the battles throughout the dungeon and especially the boss fight.

In the next area, use Dali to grab the chest at the bottom for another Dungeon Key. You might notice a bunch of sewage blocking a ladder. Simply proceed to the area on the right and inspect the valve wheel to turn off the pipe. Go back to the left room and climb up the ladder.

Part 2[edit | edit source]

A red door is covered with three different locks. The room branches between green, silver, and purple doors, each containing a miniboss to defeat with a colored key as a reward. You are free to complete these rooms in any order. At this point, you may have enough EXP to level up as well, which will make these minibosses easier. Also, consider buying items at the vending machine. Once all of the minibosses are defeated, use the keys on the door which will lead to the boss fight of the dungeon- the Golden Alpaca. Click here for a guide on defeating him.

Part 3[edit | edit source]

After the Alpaca's defeat, the sewer will take on a more dark appearance. Go up a room to open a chest containing a large sum money. Then return downwards. Keep heading down the linear path until you find yourself in a crossroads between two paths. Head North to enter a room with jump pads and a strange shopkeeper. The shopkeeper asks for "Silver." Heading to the top of the area, it will appear as if nothing is there. However, a treasure chest is hidden behind a stone, which contains 30 Silver. Give this to the NPC at the start of the area to be granted a VHS.

Now exit the room and go to the left. There is another path with treasure, but it is guarded by a strong encounter. Keep going and you'll enter a room which looks like a chessboard. Cross the bridge to get to the top, and give the Proto-Fan the VHS. Then, set on the throne. This will warp you to the "chapel room." To progress, talk to the entity at the top of the chapel room. It will begin following you. Descend the staircase and go towards the center of the room. "God" will come down and the exit door will appear.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • In 1.25, a bug existed that caused characters in textboxes to go missing immediately after the cutscene following Arcangelo's defeat. It worsened over time, but could be resolved by simply reloading the game. It may have occurred as a consequence of the new cutscene system, and has been fixed as of I.V.
  • Before I.V, the Hair Whip tool was also given in this dungeon. I.V moved it to the Mt. Town Cave instead.
    • Some dirt patches in the ground remain in the dungeon, which signified places where the Hair Whip tool would've been used.
  • The 30 pieces of silver is a reference to the Bible, where Judas was paid 30 pieces of silver to betray Jesus.
  • The "VHS" item does not resemble a VHS tape at all, instead it's a Blu Ray case and disc.
  • The Proto-Fan launching upwards like a rocket after being given the "VHS" is similar to how the Proto Woman launches upwards after being talked to.
  • The Shitty OC, Mermaid, Slime Girl and Crocodile enemies were added in I.V.
  • The tortoise guarding the purple key can be skipped by clipping inside of Panda in a very specific way to gain a large amount of height to reach the chest.
  • 1.25 removed an area of the dungeon which involved following a Soul Survivor through multiple doors until it lead to the chapel.
