Puzzle Pieces
From ONISM1999
Puzzle Pieces is a song that plays during the fight against the Proto-Comet. It was composed by Andrew Allanson, Calum Bowen, and Niko Tsakalakos, with the lyrics being written by Tony Manfredonia.
The song was initially going to have a more "70's" feel to it, until it was reworked by Calum Bowen.[1] Andrew Allanson disliked the original version so much he considered removing it from the soundtrack.[2]

Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Give your final words to me I'll take a leave of absence from walking by the sea There's a path I'll take, with so much at stake Just try to understand this is not a mistake Underneath this heavy load I'll travel through the moonlight, deciphering the code of the task at hand, please just understand I can't give you what you want to know 'til I know Where's the piece of this puzzle, I'm beggin' please Where's the answer the world needs to find? To keep us safe- above the ground I'll risk my life Hoping I can claim the key The key unlocks our safety from death eternally Past the iron gate, I'll crack the code of our fate Just try to understand, this is not a mistake Until my lungs give out I'll keep searching underground The lights will guide my way, to reach another day In the end, I cannot fail, I cannot fall Where's the piece of this puzzle, I'm beggin' please Where's the answer the world needs to find? To keep us safe- above the ground I'll risk my life I'm drowning with uncertainty I'm drowning until I find the key I'm drowning 'til I find, the answer dropped in the tide In the end, I cannot fail. I cannot fall

I enlisted the help of my friend Calum Bowen to do a complete reproduce on the track. So he took all the MIDI data, he took the recording that we had and I let him just change the direction, the actual production on the song." Thanks to Calum it doesn't suck anymore." Peak Earthbound & a YIIK Postmodern RPG Interview - Best Video Game Podcast 17 (1:03:43)
