Yuzu Imajo is the boss fight of Essentia's Mind Dungeon. Unlike the other parallel selves in the dungeon, Essentia can't seem to recognize him. His boss fight has two phases.

Battle Strategy[edit | edit source]

Phase 1[edit | edit source]

The heal bot will provide constant heals to Yuzu, so it's advised to take them out first. They can't be defeated in a traditional sense, only taken out temporarily. Alex's Smooth Jazz or Essentia's Sleep Shot are both easy ways to take the heal bot out of the fight for a bit. It's preferable to do this as attacking would require multiple turns to take out the bot.

For Yuzu's special sword dodging minigame, you are able to enter one side of the screen and go out the other. Use this to your advantage, you can avoid the jumping challenges given quite easily.

Phase 2[edit | edit source]

Yuzu uses his mech for this phase, but thankfully it's not too tough to destroy. He spawns alongside a green Mega Bot and a pink Mega Bot, which should be taken out first to avoid extra damage taken against the party. Yuzu will start using the Vine Drop minigame to attack.

His sword dodge minigame is not present in this phase, and you don't have to worry about it.

Story[edit | edit source]

When The Essentia 2000 and Alex first meet him, Essentia warns Alex that she can't recall Yuzu's life. This is unique as she is aware of every other parallel life seen in the dungeon.

Yuzu mentions his dream of wanting to kill one of them (he's unspecific in who), calling them a "thief" and explains how his life was destroyed because of them. He refers to Alex as his Mom, and apologizes for saying such terrible things. Alex is freaked out by his eccentric behavior and they engage in a fight, where Yuzu is ultimately killed. Before his death, he exclaims, "Alex. Why?"

The Essentia makes a guess as to why Yuzu acted so oddly. She believes that Alex harmed Yuzu in a parallel life in some way, and he recognized something in his soul and suddenly attacked.

Oddly, later in Chapter 5, The Essentia 2000 recalls an aspect of Yuzu's reality, where people lived with their families and never moved apart. Those who did not talk to their families were considered outcasts - considering Yuzu specifically blames Alex for his separation from his family, Alex may have been even more destructive to Yuzu's life than initially thought.
