Claudio Unkrich is a main character in YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG. You first formally meet him in Chapter 3 along with his sister, Chondra. He's determined to find his missing brother, Aaron, who disappeared in 1985. He frequently browses the ONISM forums to help other people with missing persons cases.

Personality

A practitioner of aikido, and a master of the hacky sack.

Claudio has a very passionate mindset. He excitedly goes on spiels about his favorite anime, Mahou Shoujo Haru No Shimai, whenever he gets the chance. Even in the case of his missing brother, Aaron, Claudio still remains hopeful that he will be found one day. He relates to Rory, knowing what it's like to lose a sibling. Because of the pain he feels about his brother, he goes on ONISM1999 to help investigate other missing persons cases, like Semi Pak.

Mahou Shoujo Haru No Shimai premiered in 1985, the same year Aaron went missing. It's possible that Claudio obsesses over it so much because it reminds him of Aaron.

Relationships

Aaron

Aaron and Claudio seemed to be pretty close. After his disappearance, Claudio never let it go and constantly thought about finding him one day.

Chondra

Chondra is Claudio's younger sister, and the two seem to be very close. Chondra seems to join the party mostly out of concern for Claudio.

Alex

Claudio likes Alex and wants to help him find Semi Pak, as it's deeply important to him. He also helps Alex with trying to find the record, willing to leave his shift, go through a cave, and arrive at Mark's place. When Alex warns him about Y2K, Claudio immediately accepts, telling him that Alex gave him hope again, bringing back "...a sense of adventure back into my life."

Mark

Claudio and Mark and good friends. When Claudio and Chondra were kids, Mark sponsored the "bring him home" concert to help their cousin return from the Gulf War.

Story

YIIK

In 1985, Claudio's young brother Aaron went missing. Claudio wasn't able to fully move on from his disappearance, believing he is still out there somewhere and that he can find him. He starts browsing the ONISM forums to help investigate the disappearances of other people, further fueling his obsession with finding Aaron.

Despite the tragic loss of his brother, his life still moved on. At the age of 19, Claudio opened up the first Record Stop (presumably at Flag Town) using the inheritance he got from his grandfather. Eventually he opened up more and more locations across New Jersey.

Alex, on the quest to find the Mystical Ultima LP Legend, stops by Flag Town's Record Stop, where Claudio was working. Claudio, recognizing the LP from a post on ONISM, realizes Alex is an ONISM user and agrees to help him to go find it. Passing through a treacherous obstacle course, the group arrives at the home of family friend Mark.....

Beat Down	2	"Beat down!"	There is a bug where holding down the button for an extended period of time will cause the sword to unsheathe anyways. You can abuse it to always guarantee a hit.
Bushido	4	Way of the warrior! Move fast to unleash hidden skills.	Bushido is a long string of inputs that must be done in a short timeframe. The inputs are not random, it's a consistent pattern every time. This means you don't have to wait for the arrow prompts, as long as you know the pattern you can input it very quickly. You can intentionally fail at any point to select a move and stop the minigame. The time you're given to complete the minigame is dependent on the weapon you choose. Each weapon has a hidden weight stat- the lower the weight, the more time you're given for Bushido. You're always given at least 10 seconds minimum.

• While on a bus, someone from Ackk met someone who lost their brother and had no one investigate their disappearance. This experience inspired the character of Claudio.
• In the game's code, Bushido is also referred to as "Katana Strike."
